He is also the founding CEO and President of The Yudah School of Music, a nonprofit organization committed to providing high-quality, no-cost music education to historically underserved communities. Rashawn received his training in classical piano under renowned Armenian Russian concert pianist Tatyanna Tatevik Hovhanyssian.
A proud alumnus of Delaware State University, Rashawn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance, studying under the esteemed Dr. Mable Morrison. Rashawn also studied violin with Professor Lionel Thomas and was a member of the Wilmington Orchestra. In 2022, he played his first violin with the Amherst Early Music Festival Orchestra and studied harpsichord and early keyboard music with world-renowned keyboardist Dr. Kathryn Cok. Rashawn also had the opportunity to sing for American Soprano, Juilianne Baird where she stated, “You have a beautiful voice, and you need to share it with the world”.
Rashawn’s musical career includes significant performance highlights. He has accompanied school music programs across Delaware—including the Smyrna, Capital, Lake Forest, Cesar Rodney, and Indian River School Districts. With the Delaware State University Concert Choir, he performed Handel’s Messiah at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and participated in the 2019 National Prayer Breakfast, performing for global dignitaries including the President of the United States. In 2023, Rashawn debuted as a choir member in Hannibal Lokumbe’s opera “The Jonah People” in collaboration with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra at their Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

In 2022, he became the first minority recipient of the Washington McCain Scholarship, earning a full scholarship to the Amherst Early Music Festival. Beyond music, Rashawn is a passionate biblical scholar and researcher. His path changed profoundly after discovering historical connections in the Bible between the ancient Hebrews and people of African descent. Especially those brought to the Americas via the Transatlantic Slave Trade. A DNA test further confirmed his ancestral ties to the area in the Middle East believed to be the origin of the ancient Hebrews.
This revelation inspired his lifelong mission: to use music and scholarship to uncover and teach the lost history of the ancient Hebrews and advocate for the descendants of enslaved Africans and Indigenous Americans impacted by the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Fluent in Spanish, Rashawn uses his language skills to bridge gaps between African American and Afro-Latinx communities. He has traveled and performed as a pianist and percussionist in Cozumel, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, mastering traditional Latin instruments such as the bongo and cowbell. He has also performed with groups such as Bomberos de la Calle (Philadelphia) and the Casa de Esperanza worship team and has been invited by his school district to deliver presentations on Afro-Latinx music and history, prior to becoming a teacher.
These presentations were instrumental in the Red Clay Consolidated School District offering him a teaching opportunity. Through his work in education, music, faith, and cultural advocacy, Rashawn King continues to inspire, uplift, and empower communities with grace, purpose, and excellence. All to the glory of God.

WORD FROM THE FOUNDER

Greetings Beloved,
It is with heartfelt joy and deep gratitude that I welcome you to our Men and Women of Excellence Awards Banquet. Tonight, we gather not only to celebrate outstanding individuals, but to affirm the vision and mission that God placed in our hearts through Women and Children Transformation Ministry International.
This ministry was birthed out of a passion to uplift, nurture, and empower women and children, while creating spaces where healing, growth, and purpose can flourish. Over the years, we’ve seen lives changed, families restored, and communities strengthened through the power of faith, service, and unity.
Our honorees tonight represent the excellence we strive for—individuals who lead with integrity, compassion, and courage. They are living examples of what it means to walk for a divine purpose.
I want to especially thank my husband, Bishop GWilliam Snorton, for standing beside me every step of the way. Your love, encouragement, and unwavering support have helped carry this vision forward.
Thank you all for being a part of this special evening. Your presence means more than words can express. May you leave tonight inspired, empowered, and reminded that excellence begins with a heart committed to serve.
With love and gratitude,
Pastor Cecelia Snorton
